PLEASE NOTE: ** This vinyl is 76 years old and has some smudges and light scratches. When played there is a little light static on some cuts, but no skips. Actually plays well for it's age. The album cover is in good condition, with tight binding and the inner sleeves still fully attached. There is some scuffing along the lower edge of the cover and spotting on the inside of the cover. Recorded in 1939 and released in March of 1940 as promotion for the film which was released a month later, this recording features only JUDY GARLAND from the original cast. The Ken Darby Singers do the rest of the vocals with Harold Arlen (composer of the score) as the Scarecrow, Bud Lyon as the tin man and Garney Bell as the Lion. It was originally recorded for single release for OVER THE RAINBOW and THE JITTERBUG (a song later dropped from the film) but later 6 more songs were added. The songs are very different from what is heard in the film and are interesting to listen to.
