This auction is for the 1955 Duke Records release of the Johnny Ace 10" LP - Memorial Album For Johnny Ace - Duke Lp number 70. This 10" LP which contains 8 songs was apparently released in 1955 prior to the later 12" LP version from Duke Records. The cover, for it's age is in extremely nice condition. There does Not appear to be any ring or rub wear to the front laminated cover. The back cover does have fading to the untreated plain white paper background as it was not laminated or coated in any manner, so the white background has faded a few shades. The cover lays flat and tight, there is No impression in the cover from it containing or possibly ever containing a record. All seams are tight with the opening of the cover also flat and tight. There IS a top right seam split which is approximately 2 3/4", but appears to be from the paper drying out and the paper is still there in place. The record, (which I had for many, many years prior to actually Finding a cover for it) is in Fair to possibly Good condition. The record apparently had been stored since the 1950s, prior to me finding it in the mid 1980s without a cover, so there are many light marks with Side 1 in slightly somewhat better condition visually than Side 2. The record plays through fine and sounds well for the recording advancements they had back in the '50s. There are some ticks here and there throughout both sides, but not an overwhelming amount and is enjoyable to listen to. Shipping in the U.S. is $4.89. If you would like Ins.
