Description
This very rare French Import LP is the original issue of 3 Bobby Jaspar dates recorded in New York on November 12, 14 and 20 of 1956. The album is titled "The Bobby Jaspar Quintet" and is on French Columbia FPX 123. Bobby was a first class jazz musician who unfortunately died at only 37 years old. While mostly known for his outstanding tenor sax style, he is heard on this LP also playing clarinet, and flute. His Quintets include noted jazz stars Tommy Flanagan, Nabil Totah, Elvin Jones, Barry Galbraith, Eddie Costa, Milt Hinton and Osie Johnson. There are 10 cuts in all. The disc has some sleeve scuffing but is in Excellent condition overall. The label on side A is clean but side B has a printed sticker on the top third of the label that is in French (see scan). The aged laminated jacket is in Very Good condition with edge wear, some creasing and lamination peeling along the spine. Please see my other listing for the equally rare companion 45 rpm EP with 2 additional tunes. This EP is an original issue as well. Shipping in the USA at $3.00 for Media Mail. Priority or Overseas mail will require a quote according to destination. Insurance is additional and recommended.
