EXTREMELY RARE STEREO PRESSING, MANY TIMES RARER THAN MONO
THE RECORD HAS A DATE STAMP OF 5-26-1962 HAND-ETCHED
IN THE TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX)
The label on this record is titled PURE but the jacket is titled BURNIN'.
The label has the same song list as the jacket so must have been a mistake or
a change of plans on this particular release.
THE RECORD HAS 'AUDIOMATRIX' STAMPS IN THE TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX) AREA,
WHICH IS GENERALLY CONSIDERED A PROOF OF AUTHENTICITY OF THE FIRST PRESSING.
I BELIEVE THE OVAL LOGO IS A 1ST PRESS & BRACKETS LOGO IS A 2ND PRESS.
VINYL SIDE ONE IS NEAR MINT VISUALLY. SIDE TWO IS VG++ VISUALLY.
LABELS ARE NEAR MINT.
BEAUTIFUL STEREOPHONIC COVER IS STRONG VG++ With No Splits.

The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label) which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings. Stereo pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its mono counterpart. The mix is more graphic, the sound resolution more precise, and the channel separation (which does not exist on mono version) adds a whole new dimension to the music. Also, the stereo mixes are (by definition) somewhat different than on the mono version. We estimate that mono copies of this album outnumber stereo copies by a ratio of at least 8:1.
