Description
This original Mono recording of Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames entitled 'Rhythm and Blues at the Flamingo' was recorded live on September 25th 1963 at the Flamingo Club,Wardour Street,London W.1. The session was produced by Ian Samwell.This was his debut album.
The 12" 33 rpm LP was issued in 1964 on Columbia 33SX1599, and has the Matrix numbers XAX 2575-1-N stamped on side one and XAX 2576-1-N on side two.
The cover was made and printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd and contains details of the 10 tracks, the personnel and notes on the recording by Johny Gunnell.
The reverse of the cover has been signed by Georgie Fame when I met him backstage at one of his concerts, and so I can guarentee this autograph is authentic.
The LP, which has just been played for the first time in 40 years, since it was recorded onto reel to reel tape, still sounds great. It still is in very good condition with no scratches,just a few light surface marks that are hardly visible and was a joy to hear again.
It's cover is still intact and in very good condition with no fading of the bright colours of the front photograph.There are no splits or damage, save for a few minor, hardly noticable, surface creases in the front cover lamination.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain an autographed album, a true slice of British R&B history that evokes the heady days of the 1960's music scene.
