UNIQUE PINK FLOYD PACKAGE – MEDDLE & PRESS CUTTINGS/REVIEWS & RAINBOW CONCERT PROGRAMME
This is a really one off, unique opportunity to acquire some Pink Floyd historic memorabilia. I’m selling my first UK pressing of Meddle, together with some press cuttings from the same time together with what may be the only surviving programme (with tickets) from the London premiere of Dark Side of the Moon at the Rainbow Theatre)THE ALBUM

Overall condition is EXCELLENT
Sleeve EXCELLENT The original Garrod & Lofthouse fully textured gatefold sleeve is in EXCELLENT overall condition, with no tears or splits with only the slightest, almost imperceptible, creasing where the top edge of the record sits
The sleeve, which is textured inside and out and has the wider spine cover does have some very light wear to some corners but otherwise is EXCELLENT with the colours still very bright and there isn’t any writing, taping or stickers;
Inside The Original Gatefold Cover has the patent number 1224339 inside. Only the very first pressings had this number, later pressings did not include it.
Spine is firm and totally legible but has some slight very creasing.
Inner Sleeve The original Harvest plastic lined inner sleeve is still in EXCELLENT condition and features promotional photos of other Harvest albums. I will also include the original plastic outer that I bought with it, it still fits tightly and has successfully kept the dust off for all these years
Record It’s pressed on heavyweight vinyl The record itself is clean and glossy and the disc retains its deep, black vinyl sheen. There are some faint hairline marks on both sides but nothing ugly or deep to affect the sound quality
Labels EXCELLENT The labels show minimal signs of use, have no writing and are clean with no visible spindle marking. They have "The Gramophone company .." label text,
Audio Quality EXCELLENT The record itself is clean and glossy and plays well apart from some of the usual vinyl hiss and crackle between tracks that unfortunately are noticeable in some of the quietest passages but vanish after a few seconds and don’t detract from the overall sound, which is still amazing. although deep cleaning would probably remove them. There are a couple of ‘pops’, but again, they don’t detract from the overall experience. It lays flat on the turntable and plays well without the needle sticking or jumping.
PRESS CUTTINGS I’m also including a few press cuttings from Melody Maker and Sounds from the same period, I think these are also very rare, as I’ve never seen them referred to in books or on the web. In chronological order (not as in photos as I had to squeeze them in as best I could) there’s an interview with Dave Gilmour during the making of Meddle, which didn’t have a title at that point and a fairly negative review of the album on its release. Then comes a full page retrospective of the Floyd’s place in the Rock Pantheon – written by a young Mike Oldfield. Another luke warm review, this time of Dark Side of the Moon, a review of the Rainbow concert and a later double page spread interview with Dave Gilmour on the eve of the Dark Side of the Moon at Earls Court.
RAINBOW CONCERT PROGRAMME While Meddle was still selling well (see the advert on the back of the programme) a group of us went (to celebrate my 21st birthday) to the legendary Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park to see the London (and world) premiere of of Dark Side of the Moon, by some chance I put the ticket stubs in the programme, rather than a pocket, which is how they’ve survived so well. The programme has a full page article on the group’s preparations for the show, a photo of the Pink Floyd Football team and a double page spread of the Dark Side lyrics (not shown as it would exceed the 12 photo limit) as well as information on other groups and events on that month.
Summary: this ICONIC, progressive rock masterwork album together with the ulra-rare press cuttings and concert programme are lovely pieces of genuine memorabilia from a bygone time that changed the world and expanded musical boundaries. It would surely grace any collection. If you haven’t heard the album on vinyl, this package could be for you. It certainly doesn’t sound 46 years old.I’m not a dealer of any sort, but am just downsizing and having to clear things out and trying to survive on a poxy pension. I’m starting it at a sensible price so a genuine fan or collector can enjoy it without paying rip off prices Good luck with your bidding and feel free to ask any question.

This may seem harsh but I’m fed up with time wasters! I use 12" Vinyl LP Record mailers and protect them with an additional layer of bubblewrap. In the UK I use Royal Mail Signed For. If you require some other form of postage/delivery, I’m more than happy providing you meet the extra costs. If you are outside the UK, I will use Ebay’s own service.
