Description
This is a vintage Capitol Records Gray label vinyl LP first released in 1955 entitlrd " In The Wee Small Hours " (W 581) by the one and only Frank Sinatra. This sixteen (16) track LP with orchestra conducted by Nelson Riddle has been considered by many as the best of all Sinatra albums. This LP's gray label is the variation that states LONG PLAYING HIGH FIDELITY at the bottom in large print.
The dead wax run out is as follows:
SIDE 1: W1-581-N27 (with stamped anvil) SIDE 2: W2-581-N17 (with stamped anvil)
CONDITION of VINYL: The shiny vinyl has very minimal spindle markings around center hole. LP has been test played fully on each side. Side 1 has some scratches (mostly light) that may account for some noted surface noise (NO skips, pops or repeats) that can be heard on occasion. Side 2 has fewer light scratches and less surface noise overall (again without skips, pops or repeats). This vinyl has not been cleaned on a high-end record cleaning machine. Overall, we conservatively rate this vinyl's condition as just Very Good (VG) using Goldmine guidelines. It comes with the original faded Capitol Protective Envelope (inner sleeve) that has a 3" slit at center bottom edge and some small tears of front and back top open edge that have not been taped to repair
CONDITION of JACKET: The jacket as a 4 inch seam split at top edge beginning where record is inserted and a coupled of small nicks closer to the middle. There is light softening at the other 3 corners. The side seam is very distinct and legible with no splits or cracks that have begun. The bottom seam is fully intact with only the aforementioned lightly softened corner. The front cover is quite clean with some sighs of past storage. This cover would be a nice candidate to frame if one is so inclined. The back cover has signs of past storage including some soiling and fading and a spot where some masking tape reside remains at middle of edge where record is inserted. We rate the condition of this jacket as just Very Good (VG) under Goldmine Guidelines. A new poly slip-on outer sleeve is included to help protect this approximate 64 year-old LP for years to come.
The vinyl within the inner sleeve will be separated from jacket during shipment to help guard against seam damage to the outer jacket.
