We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 20,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Jim Gustafson blazes on guitar thru this LP ,and the vocals are excellent.
Not a bad song on the whole album. With the record selling exceptionally well, the bands cult status continued to strengthen, but poor management and the typical industry pitfalls hampered the band from finding the wider success that they so richly deserved…
Originally released in the bicentennial year of 1976 – hence the title, and the band’s patriotic pose on the cover, dressed in Revolutionary-era costume.
Lead by guitar whiz Jim Gustafson (dirty distortion super-leads, Poobah deliver a potent dose of their gonzo acid hard rock action.
There’s a song here called ‘Let’s Rock’, and another one called ‘Keep On Rollin’, so you get the idea, yeah, they’re all about the rock n’ roll good times in the power-zone! The latter a heavier, Alice Cooper-ish number. But the thing with Poobah is that they’ve got a crazed psychedelic side to ’em, about ’em being ‘weird and wild and wacky’ – and not just talking about a berzerk song on this platter called ‘Crazy’, definitely one for pulling off some maniacal falsetto screams! Speaking of that, get a load of the almost-kecak-like “Chicky Chicky Cha, Chicky Chicky Cha” chant featured in the song ‘Watch Me’, that had us staring at the stereo the first time we heard it. WTF? That’s entertainment !
70's era MC5 and Ted Nugent and Grand Funk could be common reference points, to cite some big names; also Poobah are in the same realm as other underground American seventies rockers – but with more unhinged hippie humor & cool fuzz-rockers glowing !
