If we had our way, this album would be enshrined in the "Psychedelic Hall of Fame" as one of probably 5 to 10 best psychedelic albums of all time, right up there with "Forever Changes", "Electric music for body and mind", Doors' first album, "Surrealistic Pillow" , Tim Buckley's "Starsailor" or works by West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Chocolate Watch Band, QMS, Byrds, or very early Pink Floyd (did we miss anyone?). If you have never heard this album, take our word: you are missing a lot. The album aged better than 99% of its contemporaries and attained a genuine cult status. This is the masterpiece of intricate, delicate musicianship, subtle and haunting melody and vocal harmony that transcends even the romantic age of the late 1960's, The songs are uniformly minor-key, with an added touch of melancholic, moody, brooding, mesmerizing, 'trippy' feel: every little trick known in a Psychedelic Cookbook has been successfully attempted here: fuzz, feedback, cheesy Farfisa organs, multi-layered, multi-tracked and back-played vocals, touches of classical and avant-garde music, bits and pieces of Gregorian chant, arrangements which include flutes and strings, and a potent dose of West Coast psychedelic aesthetics that could kill even an elephant. Apparently, by the time band recorded this, their second and last album, they were massively influenced by Jefferson Airplane, and the album sounds like an amalgamated version of Jefferson Airplane, very early Country Joe McDonald and the Fish, and Charlatans. To make Jefferson Airplane's influence even more apparent, the band covers here a version of "High Flying Bird" (the best version in existence, in our humble view), which was associated with very early Jefferson Airplane, Judy Henske and Richie Havens, among others. Your trip is utterly incomplete without this one… A psychedelic must!!! Track listing:Spin, spin, spin - It's about time - Blue Jack of Diamonds - Electrallentando - At the mountains of madness - Mobius trip - High Flying Bird - Nothing's boy - Keeper of the keys.

·                               CONDITION:

·                               RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            WE GRADE THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT. This is one of those albums that are somewhat difficult to grade. It is somewhere between VG++ and NEAR MINT, just a notch below NEAR MINT. A few light abrasions ARE visible, but they are extremely shallow, superficial and only moderately visually distracting (nothing significant). For the most part, the vinyl looks impeccable without any MAJOR visual flaws or imperfections. Much of the original luster is intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
