Parmegiani Violostries Avant Garde Experimental LP

Rare avant garde experimental LP - Bernard Parmegiani's "VIOLOSTRIES, Thing in D/Ephemeral Capture". As far as I can ascertain, Bidule en ré (thing in D) (1969) 9'20" and Capture Ephemere (Ephemeral Capture) (1968 version) 11'45" have never been reissued. Violostries uses violin recordings as it's source material.

FRONT: metallic design; BACK: white; LABEL: green. No spine printing.

"Prospective 21e siècle" was launched in 1967 and quickly won its place as the most avant-garde and most revolutionary of all record collections. Revolutionary in its presentation (metallized record jackets in keeping with their contents), and in its exclusive repertory - electronic and experimental music. This recording is a must for anyone who is interested in new and different sonic effects.

Research indicates that copies with white paper on the back covers are first pressings. Some copies have "ELECTRONIC" printed on the cover underneath the Philips logo in the upper right hand corner. These all have white back covers. The covers with metallic back covers usually have the title printed on the spine of the jacket. The white backed versions don't have any printing on the spine.

Also, all silver records with BIEM on the vinyl label were first edition. (second edition was stamped SACEM). Blue label was issued first with BIEM, green label came second with most marked BIEM on the label. SACEM and BIEM are the companies in France that provided copyright protection. BIEM was pre 1972 and SACEM came after 1972.

CONDITION:

RECORD: Grades EX. visually. Sound quality is also EX., with the qualification that there is a small manufacturing flaw on each side of the record, causing "popping" for about one minute on side I; less than that on side II. Plays through the flaws without skipping.

COVER: VG/EX with a bit of a wear ring on back of cover, and corner crease upper right rear (see photos).

The last time I saw a copy of this LP auctioned was in 2004, when it sold for $99. Don't miss your chance this time around!
