WOW, WHAT A GREAT R&B FUNK VINYl LP THAT IS SURE TO BE A GREAT ADDITION TO ONE'S COLLECTION OF R&B VINYL LPS !
This is a 1968 vinyl Stereo LP released by Atlantic Records entitled " Tighten Up " (SC 8181) by Archie Bell and The Drells. This is the early release on the blue and green label by this Houston based group who all attend the Phillis Wheatley Senior High School. Archie and The Drells are backed by the then Number One Soul band in Houston, the TSU Tornadoos. The shiny and blemish free vinyl produces a smooth and flawless sound throughout. It is noted that Side 1 of the vinyl's label reflects a past owner's name in ink (hard to notice). We rate this vinyl as a solid EX+. A new generic inner sleeve is included.
The outer jacket features outstanding cover art design faed cover artist/designer Louis Eutemey. This cover will make a splendid album cover to frame if one is so inlined. The back cover is clean and crisp and features a black & white photo of the Archie and the group members. It is ted that a past owner's name is written in ink along the margin where the record is inserted. We rate this outer jacket as a solid EX as to overall condition. A new poly slip-on outer sleeve is included to help preserve this gem for another 49+ years!
The vinyl within the inner sleeve will be separated from jacket during shipment to help guard against seam damage to the outer jacket.
