You won't believe your eyes!!
You are looking at a RARE RL pressing of Led Zeppelin II with a gatefold that has NEVER been opened since it was released in 1969! CHECK OUT THE BEAUTIFUL PICTURES.
First of all, for those in the know, the "RL" pressing (Robert Ludwig) is the most sought after vinyl pressing of this title. Why? Quite simply, because of the sound. There exists no other pressing that equals an "RL" pressing. The songs explode from your speakers with an iron-fisted grip on the music that must be heard to be believed. The bass, soundstage and sheer presence of the music will take your breath away. The power of Led Zeppelin comes through as no other version can deliver. Back in 1969, Robert Ludwig mastered this with so much bass energy, that cheap turntables of the day could not play the lp without the arm jumping from the grooves. So, Atlantic Records recalled the RL pressings and remastered the lp. That means that most RL pressings were destroyed. Basically, Atlantic records removed the low-end power that makes listening to Led Zeppelin so appealing. What was left for the public was a sonic joke in comparison to the mighty RL mastering. And don't think that ANY cd version compares to this pressing. They don't! What about other audiophile pressings? Well, the Classic Records release, that now commands big money, is not even in the ballpark when compared to an RL pressing. The old Mobile Fidelity pressing is pretty good, but even that pressing pales in comparison to an RL pressing. It must be heard to be believed. And if you don't believe me, just go to any audiophile music forum or google "led zeppelin II RL" to read what others have stated about the RL pressing. It remains the ONLY way you will ever hear what Led Zeppelin II truly sounds like.
CONDITION: Let me start with the vinyl before I move on to the beautiful, gatefold cover. As you can see from the pictures, the labels on both sides are in pristine condition. The vinyl shines with only a few surface marks on each side. However, listening is the key. First, I cleaned the vinyl on a VPI record cleaning machine before evaluating it on my VPI Scoutmaster turntable. Side 2 has "RL-SS," in the runout groove which stands for Robert Ludwig Sterling Sound. The Side 2 vinyl is as quiet and free from ticks and pops as the day it was made. Spectaculer! Wait until you hear Bonham's drums within "Moby Dick." You better hold onto something. Side 1 has RL in the runout groove. The very start of Whole Lotta Love has some minor ticks that disappear as soon as the music kicks in. This is usually the case with the lead-in area on most of these records. There is a slight "swish" sound before the second song begins, "What is and What should never be," but goes away as soon as the song begins. The only other area on this side that had some surface noise was near the end of "Thank You" during the quiet parts of the song. That's it. I listened via my speakers and my Sennsheiser 650 headphones to be as honest as I can about what I hear in terms of any surface noise. Trust me, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Plus, if you are at all dissatified for any reason, I offer a complete money back gaurantee, as long as no damage is evident and the cellophane is intact.
Now on to the very RARE cover. Check out the pictures! This gatefold has never been opened! The cellophane wrap is mostly intact with the very rare song listing sticker on the rear along with song times. I rarely see this lp with this sticker, as most kids from the day ripped off the wrap to open up the gatefold lp and tossed away the outer wrap. Gone forever were the stickers on the front and back as you see on this rare copy. Let me know when and where you have seen one for sale last with the stickers. Good luck finding one as they are just not out there.
So, I have put up for auction a never opened gatefold cover with front and rear stickers ALONG with the sought after "RL" mastered original pressing. My goodness, for Led Zeppelin fans, it doesn't get any better than this. Of course, something like this doesn't come cheap. But quite honestly, money should not matter in this case. How often are you going to get the chance to own Led Zeppelin II with THIS COVER AND THIS RL PRESSING? Sure, your wife or girlfriend won't understand why you should drop big money on this version vs downloading it or buying the cheap cd. And she'll tell you this while she's putting away her 10th pair of shoes within the massive walk-in closet that resides in the 3000 square foot house you work so hard to pay for. But you understand. And you deserve to treat yourself for all the hard work that you do. Don't miss out on this very rare opportunity to own a piece of Led Zeppelin history.

Just to clarify, the gatefold cover was never opened, as you can see in the pictures. However, the record is NOT SEALED. The previous owner did open the cellophane to remove and play the record, which as I have stated, is an RL mastering on both sides. I'm sorry for any confusion I may have caused by stating UNOPENED, as I only meant the gatefold has never been cracked open. Thank you.
