UP NEXT - A FEW MORE GOOD ROCKABILLY 45s! This is an ORIGINAL 1956 U.S. PERFECT RECORDS RARE FLORIDA ROCKABILLY 45 RPM RECORD (NOT A REPRO AND NOT THE LATER ART RECORDS REISSUE!!) containing the tracks 'Hang Loose (I've Gotta Rock)'/'One-Eyed Sam' from Tommy Spurlin And The Southern Boys. It is Perfect Records catalog number 45-109. Both sides of this record are GREAT crudely produced rockabilly, sound bites of all four songs on offer here can be heard on the 'Rockin Country Style' website. Condition of this 45 could be better - Visual condition is G at best with the following flaws: A bubbled up area of damaged vinyl in the lead-in area on the B-side of the record, this extends no more than halfway into the lead-in area and does not come close to reaching the play area. Record has at least one surface scratch on each side that will cause ticks for part of the songs - The scratch on the B-side falls during the last 30 seconds of the song and is one of those annoying ones that runs at an angle to the grooves, which may or may not cause skips depending on your turntable - It was puzzling to me that this scratch ticked but did not skip when I played over this area using my turntable with a lightweight tone arm, but did cause skips when I played over this area using my other turntable with a heavier weight tone arm. The A-side surface scratch should only cause some ticks, no skips. Record also has a fair amount of surface marks and scuffs which cannot be felt and have no effect on play. Labels have some contact wear and a little wear around the center hole as can be seen in my accompanying image, no other real flaws. I am starting the bidding for this super rockabilly rarity at a modest low opening bid price due to the play issues, I will leave it to the bidders to determine its actual value.
