RARE RONNO SINGLE - 4TH HOUR OF MY SLEEP/ POWERS OF DARKNESS .
50 years old...a real piece of rock history!! From my personal collection.Owned by me since 1971. Carefully looked after.
Original 1971 single on the Vertigo swirl label. Released Jan 1971. 6059 029 Produced by Tony Visconti.
Ronno was a short lived project.
At the time they were involved in sessions for The Man Who Sold the World. Ronson, Visconti and Woodmansey signed for Vertigo as The Hype. They aimed to record an album - by the time the single was released they had changed their name to Ronno. The Ronno album was never completed...involvement with Bowie took on an energy of its own.
Ronno went on to arrange with Bowie..Ronno was incredibly talented as a musician and arranger/ producer. He became the lead guitar in the Spiders from Mars. There is a great documentary about him.
Single in good condition. Plain sleeve. No jumps or sticking on the single at all. Small surface mark at the beginning of the B side... Slight crackle in first seconds of the B side...
No markings, stickers or scratches on the labels and cover. (I never put my initials on records !...remember how people did that to keep a track on their records when they took them to another house?)
Amazing for 50 years old.!
