Description
Here's CARL MANN, a "SUN" Rockabilly artiste with an LP that came out, in the US, on Sam Phillips' subsidiary label "Phillips International" This is the trouser-burstingly rare UK issue from 1960 (see date code on sleeve in photo). It's "Like Mann" on London HAS 2277 It isn't perfect. The disc has a few handling marks etc, but nothing to cause grief, and it plays beautifully. I reckon it's round about a VG+ using the "Record Collector" magazine's yardstick. It's certainly well collectable. Have a look at the photos, taken from various unflattering angles, to give you an honest idea of what condition it's in. It will raise you in the esteem of other collectors, grow your hair back, and make you irresistable to potential romantic partners... (or maybe not). It's a good useful clean copy and you won't see another in a month of Sundays. The sleeve is much less gorgeous. It has stood on a rockabilly person's shelf for over sixty years, so it has picked up some handling marks and the odd light crease. The FRONT OF THE SLEEVE looks very nice. The BACK OF THE SLEEVE is a different story. It's got the "half-moon" shaped flip-back (hooray!), but everything looks rather grubby. A skilled going-over with one of those big soft artist's erasers (beloved of big soft artists) would probably improve it by a grade or two, but at the moment it's probably more or less a VG.
