THE BUDDY HOLLY SONGBOOK!
by TOMMY ALLSUP (Reprise #6182 1st pressing LP, 1965):
STILL SEALED UNPLAYED MINT GEM!
STILL SEALED 1st PRESSING LP, out-of-issue for 56 years. This album by Buddy Holly's guitarist is from the estate of Buddy's producer Norman Petty (1927-1984). We'll include a COA verifying it came from Norman's warehouse in Clovis, New Mexico.
Tommy Allsup (1931-2017) & Waylon Jennings joined Holly's band after Buddy split from the original Crickets. On that snowy Iowa night in February 1959, Tommy lost a coin toss to Richie Valens for a seat on the ill-fated Beechcraft Bonanza. Richie said, "I never won anything before", but it was Tommy Allsup who was lucky that night. Losing that coin toss gave him another 58 years.A sealed 1st pressing of this superb LP is worth well over $100! It'll hold a primo spot in The Vault; even the shrinkwrap is immaculate.
