Description
Sophie Tucker & Steve Allen will be forever be connected because in 1963 he wrote the music and lyrics for a Broadway musical based on the life of Sophie Tucker. This collection includes 2 RARE LP's that are signed by the artists themselves:
1) Sophie Tucker/Golden Jubilee (1954) – (Mercury –MC 20049) - SIGNED BY SOPHIE TUCKER . A 16 page hard cover booklet/Limited Edition/copy #9595 – plus printed signed Thank you note. Songs celebrating her 50 year singing career. CONDITION: Vinyl= Very Good +. Cover = Very Good. Some wear to lamination of left side of LP cover photo. Back side shows some wear for a record of this age.
2) SOPHIE (1963) – (AEI-OSS-3027) RARE WHITE LABEL PROMO - Contains the song “You’d Know It” not heard on the commercial issues SIGNED BY STEVE ALLEN while I was in his presence. Original Cast Album of Musical Comedy Production based on the life of Spohie Tucker. Music & Lyrics by Steve Allen. Book by Phillip Pruneau. Musical Direction & vocal Arrangements by Liza Redfield. Arrangements & Orchestrations by: Sid Ramin. Choreography: Donald Saddler. Direction by: Gene Frankel. Cast: Libi Staiger (as Sophie Tucker), Steve Allen, Kathy Keagan, Linda Lavin, Mimi Roman, Jennie Smith, Jerry Vale, Sandy Warner. CONDITION: Vinyl= Excellent. Cover= Very Good. 2" tear in right upper seam and small tear in left upper seam corner.

LP's come boxed carefully in corrugated boxes made specifically for LP's, with filler pads and bubble wrap on both sides to protect the cover. LP's are housed in clear plastic LP sleeves. The LP is removed from the cover for shipping to prevent seam splitting unless when purchasing a sealed LP or when specified otherwise. Tracking numbers will be provided on all purchases.
