Description
```html Sex Pistols – Pretty Vacant Rare Spiral Scratch Magazine 7" • July 1976 Demos • SCRATCH 4 / APOCA 4 A Brilliant Little Piece of Punk History
This is exactly the kind of Sex Pistols record collectors love finding – not a standard commercial single, but a special 7" originally supplied free with issue 4 of Spiral Scratch magazine and clearly marked “NOT FOR RESALE”.
The attraction is the material itself: raw July 1976 demo recordings, capturing the Pistols before the polish and controversy of their major-label singles. The sound has that immediate, rough-edged energy that made these early recordings so important to punk collectors.
There is also a wonderful collector’s quirk: the B-side label states “I Wanna Be Me”, but this pressing is known for actually playing “Seventeen”. That mis-credit is part of the identity of this release.
Additional visible runout markings include ORLAKE and PENTHOUSE. These details are clearly shown in the close-up photographs and are useful identifiers for collectors comparing pressing variations.
The Famous B-Side Mis-CreditAlthough the label lists I Wanna Be Me, this release is known for actually containing Seventeen on the B-side. Rather than being a defect, this is one of the most interesting identifying characteristics of the pressing and something Sex Pistols collectors specifically look for.
Vinyl Condition: VG+ (Very Good Plus)The vinyl presents very well, retaining a strong clean appearance with only light signs of careful use. A few fine hairlines or handling marks may be visible, mainly when viewed at an angle or under strong direct light. Playback is very enjoyable with little background noise; occasional brief surface noise may be heard between passages, but it does not dominate the music. No skips were experienced on our equipment, and the record tracks very well with a clear, punchy and detailed sound.
Sleeve / PresentationSupplied in a plain protective sleeve, exactly the understated presentation associated with this magazine freebie. Please use the photographs as the main visual guide to the condition of both labels and vinyl.
Please Study the Photographs CarefullyThe photographs show the actual record you will receive and form an important part of the description.
