Description

I will be listing some rare jazz and blues records from single collection over the next few months. Look out for my other listings of vintage Blue Note, Contemporary, Pacific Jazz, Prestige, Argo, Savoy, Verve, Impulse, Chess, etc.
Sonny Boy Williamson  Down and Out Blues  (Chess LPS 1437)  Nice US 1st stereo deep groove pressing of this all-time great blues classic from 1959, with some of Sonny's best playing.  Rare in any condition, this 1st stereo pressing was released in the mid 60's, a few years after the 1st mono pressing, and has a more dynamic electric sound.  Powerful stuff!
Record grade: VG++  Great clean and shiny copy!  Just a couple very light scuffs and surface scratches.
Cover notes: Standard album jacket, thick sturdy board, with some ring wear and very minor corner wear.  Nice example of this infamous original cover.  Small name written on back and on one side of label.  Comes with vintage Chess inner sleeve.

Cover grade:   No grade is provided.  Refer to notes and photos for details.
Shipping: All records will be shipped in a sturdy, reinforced cardboard box mailer, with record and cover protected in plastic sleeve.  Standard shipping will be via USPS media mail, at cost of $4.00.  Priority mail also available, at cost of $10.00. Save on combined shipping when additional records are purchased.   For additional records, $1.00 will be added to initial shipping cost.
