For sale is a nice copy of a very elusive Beatles LP: ‘Meet The Beatles’ on Capitol, ST-2047. This is a very first, STEREO pressing from early 1964 which has the ASCAP & BMI publishing credits missing from record labels. [BMI is Broadcast Music Industry and ASCAP is American Society for Composers And Performers] These 2 agencies collect royalties for musicians. These credits were added to all subsequent pressings making this a truly valuable album. According to the Cox/Daniels price guide of 2007, there were reportedly only 20,000 mono copies made. Stereo copies pressed before this error was noticed, is closer to only 2,000! Jacket Cond. is VG+ with a crease near Paul. Record shows light surfaces marks which should play thru fine. Labels have faint initials on both sides in colorband but aren’t too distracting. Back of jacket at bottom has a spot where initials were lightened/erased. Comes with original, blue inner Capitol sleeve. Overall an outstanding example of this very hard to find stereo album. All items are carefully packed with records removed from the sleeve or jacket to prevent seam splits or ringwear.
