Original UK 1960s mono pressing of Rubber Soul on the classic yellow/black Parlophone label.

This is the highly regarded XEX 579-5 / XEX 580-5 pressing, commonly known among collectors as the Hazel Yarwood -5/-5 cut, and particularly sought after for its excellent mono mastering.

Vinyl: VG+

The record has been fully play-tested following a thorough clean with a record cleaning machine.

It has been tested on a Linn Sondek LP12 turntable using a Micro Benz Glider SL Moving Coil stereo cartridge and surely it will sound even better with a mono cartridge.

It plays very well throughout, with strong and clear audio. Only very faint and occasional background surface noise is audible in places and is never intrusive.

No skips or jumps.

Visually, the vinyl retains a good gloss and shows some light surface marks/hairlines consistent with age and careful use. Overall, a very enjoyable playing copy of this sought-after -5/-5 mono cut.

Sleeve: VG

Original laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve showing age-related wear, laminate creasing and some edge/corner wear, but remaining complete and presentable for its age. Please study the photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description.

The record will be supplied in a high-quality audiophile-grade anti-static HDPE inner sleeve for additional protection. Original authentic Emitex inner sleeve included.

Please note that this is not the earlier -1/-1 “Loud Cut” pressing, but the later and highly desirable -5/-5 mono cut, prized by many collectors for its sound quality.

Shipping & Returns

The item will be carefully packed in a proper record mailer and dispatched within 2 working days of cleared payment.

The vinyl will be removed from the outer sleeve for shipping to help prevent seam splits.

Returns are not accepted, so please review the description and all photographs carefully before purchasing. I am happy to provide any additional information regarding matrices, labels or condition before purchase.
