Description

TESLA Five Man Acoustical Jam Original 1990 German / European Press • 2LP • Geffen Records A landmark live acoustic album

Five Man Acoustical Jam captures Tesla at one of the most memorable points in their career. Recorded live at Philadelphia's Trocadero Theatre in 1990, the band stripped away the arena-rock production and showed just how strong the songs were with acoustic guitars, piano and a live audience around them.

The album became especially loved for its loose, intimate atmosphere and Tesla's version of “Signs”, while classics such as “Love Song”, “Modern Day Cowboy” and “Heaven's Trail” give the set plenty for both longtime fans and collectors of late-'80s / early-'90s hard rock. Original double-vinyl copies are increasingly attractive because later listeners often discovered this album on CD rather than the original 2LP format.

Vinyl Condition: Strong VG+

Both records retain a good glossy appearance and play very well on my system. There are light handling marks / hairlines which are mostly much easier to see under strong direct light or when the vinyl is tilted. Playback remains clear and enjoyable, with no skips experienced on my equipment.

Important: one of the records has a small area of what appears to be paper residue on both sides, most likely transferred from an inner sleeve during storage. I have deliberately not scraped or picked at it because I would rather leave it safely in place than risk scratching the record. I believe it should be removable with careful, appropriate wet record cleaning, but I am selling it exactly as photographed and cannot guarantee the result.

Sleeve: VG+

The original gatefold-style outer sleeve remains very presentable for a 1990 copy. There is visible age-related edge and corner wear, rubbing and normal storage wear, all shown honestly in the photographs. The artwork still presents very well and retains the classic live-show atmosphere.

Original Inner Sleeves: VG+

Both original printed inner sleeves are present — an important part of a complete original copy. They show light age and handling wear but remain in very good collectible condition.

Care & Presentation

We treat every record with care regardless of grade. The vinyl will be supplied in fresh protective inner sleeves so the original printed inners do not have to be used for everyday storage. The complete album will also be placed in a new clear outer protective sleeve. All original inserts / inner sleeves shown in the listing remain included.

Please Study the Photos

The photographs form an important part of the description and show the actual copy you will receive. Please look carefully at the vinyl surfaces, sleeve edges, inner sleeves and matrix photographs. If you would like any additional photos or a particular close-up, simply message me — I will be happy to provide it.

Secure Vinyl Shipping

Records are packed carefully using sturdy vinyl mailers with protective stiffeners. The vinyl can be removed from the outer sleeve for shipping where appropriate to reduce the risk of seam splits. We package records the way we would want collectible vinyl to arrive ourselves.
