PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. One of the most consistent and popular bands of the 70s, Stray trod a fine line between Hard Rock, Prog, and harmony-driven blues boogie, their upfront guitar led powerful playing, hook-laden melodies and accomplished harmonies appealing equally to all three audiences. Formed in 1966 by guitarist Del Bromham, by 1970 they were well established at the forefront of the Underground/Progressive circuit, with a huge following in Europe...After their first two albums of inventive, unpredictable hard prog-psych (Lp's "Stray" and "Suicide"), Stray kept chugging right along with their third album, 1971's Saturday Morning Pictures, which notably found guitarist and guiding force Del Bromham featuring his his ever-dominant fretwork, that included Bromham's ever-growing arsenal of synths and keyboards that added enriching nuances to some of the band's more adventurous material like "After the Storm," and "Sister Mary," while "Move That Wigwam," delivered an odd mixture of rural-fried harmonicas and Native American Indian themes. Another interesting hybrid, the first single, "Our Song," came complete with pipe organs and vocal backing from fem singer P.P. Arnold, as did "Mr. Hobo," with its sprightly jangle guitar jamboree. In conjunction with the electric hardrock material rounding out Saturday Morning Pictures - the tracks are solid and enhance Stray's success with underground-rock followers, and, indeed, "Saturday Morning Pictures" managed to climb higher up the charts than either of its aggressive albums before. Unfortunately, the album did not break the band to a wider commercial audience, still it remains as one of the three best Stray albums to own.
