We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Very scarce (have not seen this issue for many years) ...from 30+ years ago as a limited 2nd press (the first time ever issued in England.)

LOOKS and PLAYS CLEAN ...

The great Texas bluesy psych collectible recorded in 1969...an always hunted for and sought after "psych" gem containing Dusty Hill & Frank Beard who went on to ZZ TOP fame....Dusty's brother Rocky Hill is in the American Blues crew as well....

1969's "The American Blues ~ Do Their Thing" was their second and last album. Self-produced, the collection found the band opting for a major change in direction from their first private pressed album. Written by Dusty and Rocky Hill, material such as the lead-off "You Were So Close To Me", "Captain Fire" and "Just Plain Jane" found the band getting it on with San Francisco-styled psychedelics. Elsewhere, the album found the group mining a more conventional rock format; "Wonder Man" and "Shady" reflecting a distinctive Cream-influence, while the blazing "Comin' Back Home" (complete with Beard and Rocky Hill meltdown solos) offered up nice Hendrix Experience jams -- which do not lessen the enjoyment factor. A commercial failure, Uni promptly dropped the band. (On a personal note, we've always wondered about the discrepancy between the front and back covers showing a trio and the liner notes listing four members.) Beard promptly left to join the newly formed ZZ Top, quickly recruiting Dusty as bassist...and their fame was,,,just down the road...

CONDITION: The cover: Solid all over, rated: "EX" (excellent) very fragile British pressing from a little over 30 years ago (first time the LP was ever released in England) ... there is no wear per se, handled well over the past 3 decades and little seen... we have not had a copy in years long enough to even remember it - maybe we had it once. No matter, the fidelity is the same as the USA '69 issue. There are no bends, no split seams, no writing & no fading, and NO delete marks

The vinyl: glossy over both sides...rated: M- completely clean excellent/ audio play grade = quite enjoyable, dynamic and strong...and has clean UK S.F.M. labels...
