PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! Long long gone and now quite RARE...British 2nd pressing from easily 25+ years ago = has a completely different (superior) psychedelic pop-art cover to the US copy, laminated sleeve and all...it's a GREAT hipped-out psych-pop groove all the way through. This 1968 Lp sounds like a classic psychedelic record from London's swingin' underground scene...well, here's why:
The Paper Garden is a quite unknown band who recorded this psych obscurity back in 1968. The album contains absolutely smashing psychedelic pop music. Sounding very much like Beatles Sgt. Pepper, Zombies Odessey & Oracle and UK Nirvana . This is one trippy magic carpet ride of popsike, the songs are cheery and joyous, played in a very psychedelic way. Released in the USA on the small New York City based label Musicor ...Yes it has much in common with UK psych pop but Paper Garden take themselves seemingly a bit more serious at times than their English coparts. Thats not a bad thing as this is quiet an enjoyable album. The first time you listen it is quiet striking how similar it is to other US psych pop from the same time. If we hadn't known better we might have mistaken it for British the first few times too. Paper Garden was a very talented band, using a wide range of instruments along with period psych effects. There is an Eastern flavor to several tracks that is quiet pleasing. "Gypsy Wine", "Man Do You", "Raining" and "A Day" all have quiet tasteful sitar, tabla fluorishes. Several tracks also have cool 'pepperland' arrangements, all of it done very tastefully, making the tracks stronger. You even get some nice op-art banjo on the break in "Sunshine Woman", toytown organ on "Ladies Man", carnival like choruses on "Mr. Mortimer" and fanfare pepperland backing on "A Day" ... Quite a varied album.
