This is a rare Yellow Label DJ/PROMO copy of THE VELVET UNDERGROUND'S legendary self titled 3rd album on MGM RECORDS SE-4617 released in 1969.This is a US STEREO pressing.Here are a few details of record dorkology that are unique to this pressing...
-Has Orange&Black DJ-NOT FOR SALE sticker on front cover.
-Yellow Label that states:MGM SPECIAL DISC JOCKEY NOT FOR SALE
-Virpi,INC BMI listed for publishing
Etchings in the runoff groove for Side 1 are:SE 4617 SIDE 1 MGS 1824 REV FINAL
For Side 2 are:SE 4617 SIDE 2 MGS 1825 REV FINAL
Vinyl is strong VG to VG+...Plays Great!Has some occasional surface noise only on a few of the quieter songs like CANDY SAYS&PALE BLUE EYES but it's very subtle&never overpowers the music.No skips or pops.Vinyl looks pretty clean but has some sleeve scuff&scratches on both sides.I have enjoyed listening to this copy at least 10 times&fidelity is so good on this pressing.Sounds much better than 80's reissues...
Cover is VG to VG+:bottom split just over half way.1" ding on top part of the spine.Has some ring wear.
This is definitely not a Mint copy but this is a great playing copy with occasional surface noise.There weren't too many of these made and rarely turn up on ebay....NO RESERVE!
