ITEM:  EXTREMELY Rare and in demand female vocal Jazz LP.  " Nitey-Nite ",  by Nancy Steele.  Private pressing on the Chatam label, catalog number CH-354 High Fidelity.

COMMENTS / CONDITION: This LP came from a private collection - it is not a beat up item bought at a yard sale. The record was visually graded, and was test played.

Grading is according to Goldmine Standards. If you are not familiar with that system, please go to the Goldmine web site and read the grading details BEFORE YOU BID.

Vinyl is in  VG+ Condition with a nice mirror like luster. No warps, deep scratches, cracks, or chips. A close inspection under a bright light reveals a few wispy scuffs, hairlines, and tiny pin head marks which had little effect on the playback. On my older system, both sides played quietly with no major issues. Other than occasional soft tics on each side, there were no explosive pops, surface noise, skips, or groove lock. NOTE: Sound quality will vary from system to system. The above comments are included strictly as reference, and are not a statement as to the experience you may have with your equipment.

Both deep groove labels are in very good, clean condition. Like many vintage small record company releases, the label adhesive has dried out. One label has come loose and the other is loose but still attached. The detached label has light marks around the center hole. The label still on the record has tiny tears at the edge of the center hole. ( See the attached photos for close up views ). The center hole is perfectly round and shows no signs of abusive playing.

The inner sleeve is clear thin vinyl.

I have not tried to clean the vinyl or the labels. Serious collectors usually have their own preferred methods they use to care for their records.

Cover is in strong VG or better condition. The top seam has a full length split and the edge seam has chipping and nearly a full length split. Both splits are clean, and have not been messed up by someone trying to repair them with cheap tape. There are tiny staple holes in the top left corner ( in the "good old days", music store price tags were thin cardboard and were attached by staples ). Two small numbers are written on one corner of the back panel. The laminated front cover still retains a beautiful gloss with a hint of ring wear. The colors are bright and vibrant.  The back cover also retains a nice gloss. There is very light rub wear and a small visible spot present. Photos and lettering are crisp and sharp.
