Ultra-Rare Mid-Century South Korean Cultural Artifact & Broadcast Pressing!  (1958-1959)

Up for auction/sale is a highly elusive copy of the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) Record Series No. 5. Released as a special "Seasons Greetings" promotional record, this LP showcases a beautiful cross-section of mid-century Korean musical history, featuring traditional folk arrangements on Side One and popular tracks on Side Two.

Collector's Highlight: Side Two features early recordings by the legendary Kim Sisters ("Nilirinya" and "Maiden's Prayer"), the pioneering Korean vocal group who went on to achieve historic crossover success in Las Vegas and on US television.

Condition Details:

  • Vinyl (VG+): Excellent preservation. The vinyl retains a beautiful gloss and plays wonderfully with only minimal, occasional light popping on Fisherman's Song (Last Track side 2). No deep scratches or skips. A very clean listening experience for a vintage Korean pressing of this era.
  • Cover (VG): Structurally strong and solid. The corners are sharp and in good shape. There are no splits, no tears, and absolutely no ink or pencil writing anywhere on the jacket. It shows honest age-related fading and light patina/discoloration as pictured, but remains a sturdy, respectable display piece.

Shipping & Handling:

  • The record will be shipped securely in a dedicated cardboard LP Record Mailer with extra cardboard stiffeners to prevent bending.
Collector’s Packing: To prevent seam splits during transit, the vinyl disc (in its inner sleeve) will be removed from the outer cardboard jacket and packed safely alongside it inside a protective plastic poly-sleeve.
