PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. RARE ....Original 1972 first pressing vinyl in unique thick gatefold cover that is rarely seen and was quickly changed to another cover design shortly after release and containing 1968 ALLMAN BROTHERS DEMOS
This lesser known album is actully Unreleased Demo Recordings for the band "31st Of February", on which Gregg and Duane played as studio musicians. Sessions recorded in September, 1968. Includes an early version of "Melissa" ...The 31st of February released a very sought & collectible 1969 album on Vanguard, although none of the songs on this album are on that album, though entirely of interest in the same music vein but with a different line up that does not include Greg & Duane Allman...This 31st Of February (containg Greg & Duane) was was recorded in 1968 and remained unreleased until 1972...the members in this 31st of February Lp feature future Allman Brothers Band founders Greg and Duane Allman and drummer Butch Trucks, along with Scott Boyer on guitar and vocals and David Brown on bass.
"Morning Dew" is dramatically different from the Grateful Dead's version on their '67 first album. Duane's echo-backed sweeping guitar riff are captivating, and Greg's singing is as soulful as his later work would become. "God Rest His Soul" is a lovely tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. ("A man lay dying in the street. A thousand people lay down on their knees. Any other day he would have been preaching..."). "Come Down and Get Me" (a.k.a. "Down in Texas") is great blues.
"Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out" would show up later on Eric Clapton's Derek and the Dominoes double-album and, of course, "Melissa" would become a greatest hit from from the Eat a Peach release. This "Melissa" is a little simpler, but pretty much the same arrangement.
Side 2 features some cool bluesy Allman songs, "I'll Change for You" and "Well I Know Too Well." Guitarist Scott Boyer is the lead vocalist on "In the Morning When I'm Real."

CONDITION: The Cover: The thick gatefold is rated: near "EX" (excellent) hard enough to find LP but with a CLEAN cover (the dark cover is usually worm out IF even seen at all) = light previous use, still a fine copy here for collection purposes , nothing more than a shade of small beginning wear started...has no bends, no writing and no split seams...very seldom seen cover that was quickly changed to a boring single fold style with different photo later on....
The Vinyl: all glossy clean and clear M- nice rare collectible that looks and plays outstanding!
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
