Description
Here is a RARE vintage original PROMO lp album from my collection offered up for sale: This is an original 1963 promotional pressing of "Bobby Vee Meets The Crickets" released by Liberty Records LRP-3228 MONO, has the "Audition Record" white labels and printed inner sleeve. Here Bobby teams up with Buddy's original band and includes their version of Buddy's songs "Peggy Sue", Well All Right" plus "Bo Diddley" and more.
Note: Bobby was called to fill in on the "Winter Dance Tour" after a crash took the lives of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and their pilot. Bob Dylan recounted some gigs with Bobby Vee as his "piano player" and has performed Bobby Vee's songs.
The heavy weight record grades VG+, is glossy and clean, has a few light marks, has one small more moderate mark, has been PLAY TESTED! Plays very good from start to finish, clear sound with a few light background pops, no skips or jumps and a very enjoyable listen!
The cover rates NEAR MINT, is clean with great color portrait of the band with no ring wear, has faint pen signature in upper corner (barely noticeable, see photo), edges and corners excellent, no splits, beautiful clean cover! (see all 12 pictures)
