Description
Here is a RARE album from my collection offered up for sale: This is an original 1958 "Buddy Holly That'll Be The Day" released in 1958 by DECCA Records DL 8707 Long Play MONO. This is a vintage 1st pressing has the 1950's rigid style vinyl and black and silver labels, original cover, baggie inner sleeve. Disc has some needle marks, plus one side has an edge CHIP but the balance still plays through (start record at SECOND SONG on side two to avoid chip). It has a high book value $250-$350, was one of only 3 LP's released in his short lifetime, a MEGA RARE collectable!
The vinyl grades (G) GOOD, is clean and glossy, has several light marks and a few moderate feel-able needle marks, side two also has an edge CHIP (no cracks). Has been PLAY TESTED, plays with good sound quality, clear sound with many errant light pops, a few more moderate pops but no skips or jumps, still an enjoyable listen! The baggie inner sleeve is clean, no splits.
The cover rates VG, clean bright portrait of Buddy with only light ring wear, has a small scrape to slick near bottom, bottom area also has faint pen writing that has been 75% removed (unnoticeable - must look closely), edges and corners have light wear and seam splits were neatly taped, binder is still partly readable, has only a few small spot stains on the back.
