Description
Scarce psych rock lp: PINK FLOYD - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Tower T-5093, stereo, released in 1967. This is the FIRST US PRESSING - with all of the following: Track A1 is above spindle hole; STEREO & Cat # same size bold ink; tracks are in bold text, followed by (ASCAP) then times in regular font; writing credits appear under the tracks; Rainbo Pressing (the number 6 is in the lower right corner of the back cover); on the labels, there are three errors - Track A2 written as "Pow. R. Roch", A3 written as "Take Up My Stethoscope And Walk", and B3 written as "Chappter 24".
ADDITIONALLY - this has a LABEL ERROR and I can't find any others like it, either currently online or listed in past auction listings - it has "ST-5093" on the a-side and "T-5093" on the b-side. So in addition to it's value of $100 to $180 or so, it is also a possibly-unlisted factory error.
Condition: very strong VG++ up to EX, EX jacket - (vinyl is still glossy, with some soft scuffs & a couple of short soft surface scratches which I can't feel, & which only cause some occasional soft background; jacket has very clean cover, several very small rubbed areas/scars to the margin of the lower-left corner & one small thumb-wrinkle; the reverse has a bit of ringwear, several more of those small rubbed scars, & light ripples & very light stain to top-left corner of back cover; some light rubbing to spine).
