We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Ages ago, mid '80s limited edition ANALOG exact 2nd-press of the mighty FIRST Poobah album ... a mint copy recently sold for $1800. As far as heavy-rock trios go, this is one of the best LP's not a weak moment ... forget later digital re-pressings, the 'analog' pressing remains with the true warm bold sound as intended... just this one-off copy located.

In 1972 a Midwestern band called Poobah released their debut album, a six-song album titled Let Me In. The record is now impossibly rare; original vinyl copies change hands (when they surface at all) for upwards of $800 and far more .
But while in all likelihood the main people clamoring for a modern-day release of this hard rock obscurity are collectors and amateur rock historians, the album itself deserved to enjoy success among a much wider audience.
Without a doubt, there is a evil-doomy streak to the music on Let Me In. The album opens with a brief, off-putting vocal skit concerning a kid and a gun. But then the band kicks-in with their awesome signature tune, “Mr. Destroyer.” Boasting a set-on-stun guitar tone that will bring smiles to anyone who’s enjoyed Paranoid (an album which Rolling Stone Magazine annoyingly awarded only two stars - ah ha!! The bullshit detector exposed! )... and all the while, this alnbum simply explodes into power-trio stoner rock of the ever best. The other elements of the album, assured yet busy bass lines, wah-wah’d guitars, precise and forceful press rolls, all move it along.
“Enjoy What You Have” heads in a completely different stylistic direction. Sounding more like Bubble Puppy crossed with Blind Faith, here Poobah dials back the heaviness to an artistic degree. They even add some pretty harmonies. And while leader, guitarist and Poobah mainstay Jim Gustafson consistently turns in some interesting and compelling guitar work, it’s the inventive drumming of Wiseman – think of a more controlled Keith Moon – that elevates what would otherwise be merely a strong rock tune.
“Live to Work” is built around a thudding, bluesy bass figure, with wailing vocals, droning guitar and more press rolls. It’s a good tune, notable mainly for Gustafson’s guitar solo; heavy-psych fans take note.
On “Bowleen” the band truly comes into its own. After a stoned-out Donald Duck-like spoken intro, the menacing melody begins, with a feel a bit like Pink Floyd’s “Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun.” But when the almost-chanted dual lead vocal comes in, it’s even spookier. The tempo picks up, then slows back down, and the minimalist lyrics repeat. Gustafson spins out some clanking guitar leads, and then – as the tempo again accelerates – he engages in some shrieking vocals that sound like the best thing you are most likely to hear all day.
Next up it’s a song actually called “Rock ‘N’ Roll.” Yeah, honestly. Here Poobah is treading in killer hard-rock territory. The shrieks are even more prominent in this song, and they work better in the context. More drumming press rolls, too! A Jimmy Page-like guitar solo precedes Gustafson’s wailing of the song’s catchphrase. Poetry it ain’t, but this song will get heads nodding and fists pumping. It was in all likelihood a killer tune when Poobah opened for the heavy headliners of the era.
All the heaviness remains throughout all of this album, but there’s plenty of texture; Poobah seems intent on avoiding musical monotony. .
