PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Long, long gone 300 made 2nd press issued way back 20-25 years ago...
The first and best second issue by this rowdy fuzz garage hippie crew that released only one album that goes for $1000 and beyond ... Some of the tracks show heaps of promise with a way crude 'n FUZZED out vibe, going into psych-rock ... highlights include "Stormy Monday Blues" - a beautiful heavy-psych blues work up with monster crude fuzz guitar injections.
Only 100 copies of their original album were pressed in 1968 along with two non-LP 45s that were often given away free with the album.
We're talking an ultra rarity LP of the highest order here. There are a couple of decent rural tracks (Happy Face and Got To Keep Travelling On) and the finale, Gettin' Off, is has a drum solo -- for the most part the album is all about mindblowing psychedelia. The best of these are Catfish, with some bluesy psychedelic guitar work, and two social commentary songs, Get A Gun and Let's Keep The Children On The Streets, a song about the riots of the sixties.
Ray Schulte had earlier played in Bob Kuban and The In Men in 1962, before helping to form The Guise and, with his brother Jerry, an act called The Sheratons. Tiring of the pop and R&B scene, Touch were formed in mid-67, to create a more powerful fusion of psychedelic blues, and they quickly picked up support slots for acts such as Steppenwolf, Cream and Iron Butterfly, also playing at a free festival with Big Brother & The Holding Co. and \The Allman Brothers in '68.
Shortly after their album was recorded, singer Paulette headed West to join a commune, and Ovid quit. A new line-up recorded two further 45s, which feature some good fuzzy guitar work and in particular their version of Light My Fire, which is slower and fuzzier than The Doors', comes off well.
