Description

I have up for auction a record (One Sided 7" 78) on the black embossed Berliner GRAMOPHONE label; very rare, late 1800s, date of Oct. 20, 1898!. It is #219Z, Cornet Solo by Mr. Thomas Clark (sounds like piano accompaniment). The record is in good condition, no chips or cracks and scuffs or scratches are light and almost all surface variety, none deep. The record plays through with no problems; no skips and the cornet is fairly clear. But there is a lot of surface noise especially at the beginning. I am guessing most of these Berliners are much the same as far as surface noise, being such early disc type record.
