Description
RARE*AUSTRALIAN*JAZZ*FUNK*JOYCE HURLEY*44*LIEPOLT*HEAR!
The one and only Joyce Hurley LP on Horst Lieplot's much respected and famed 44 Records label. A much sought after and highly prized slab of vinyl this one, and quite rightfully too. Never seen around and always held onto if found. An amazing talent, Hurley displays her unique and amazing vocal abilities over eight tracks of the nine here, leaving one for backers The David Martin Group to lay out their own brilliant skills on. Listen first though to a clip of the Funky bass driven barnstormer known as Sunbath. Here:
Next up is that killer latin tinged percussive power house killer Jazz instrumental Sambole. Here:
Breathtaking. To cool it down take this snippet, a brilliant take on Herbies composition Maiden Voyage. Here:
A brilliant and exceptional album all round for this Lady originally from Detroit and the incredibly accomplished David Martin Group.
The Cover is only let down by a corner bend on the back right and a signature top right front which should be visible on the picture. Slight record ring too makes this a reluctant but good VG. The Vinyl is clean and shows hardly any visible marking and sounds wonderful. The Label is also tip top and intact making this a VG+ if not better at the very least.
For track listing see super size photo above.
The Photo and the sound clip are included as part of the description.
Thank you.
Please see my entire auction for a lot of very rare Jazz, Funk, Soul, Cuban Funk, Breaks, Disco and more. This is a big sale. Don't miss out.
Record Collector Magazine Grading System.
MINT The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Un played should be Mint. EXCELLENT The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc. FAIR The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. POOR The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing. BAD The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.lordgumboot Store
