PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. 36 years ago (rare!) numbered #55 / 500 only issue FIRST PRINT of an early release GARAGE 1965-1966 scream punk fuzz issue of hand selected 45-rpm-only releases that never made it to album format until this very issue!
Originally issued 36 years ago in limited run of only 500 made... OFF THE WALL remains one of the premiere GARAGE LP's in that it features a SCORCHING array of gold nuggets from the '60s. Gems that STAND OUT in a shockingly primitive nature and command $$$ (each) in original 45 issue. Unrepentant shambolic late-‘60s garage rock mayhem, sometimes with early psychedelia edges (Think Count 5 "Psychotic Reaction") which definitely set the tone for collectors to go rabid in collecting such nuggets pressed locally in the '60s. Such '60s nuggets ALSO helped to spark the English freak-beat revival of the early ‘90s. Though the teen combos on display here are sometimes musically inept in a crude charming way, their wild enthusiasm and sneering adolescent cool more than make up for any technical shortcomings. Perhaps since Off the Wall, Vol. 1 came out at a time when there were very few of these'60s garage compilations were to be found, other than those in the Pebbles series. Best yet - its "quality" of all-killers-no fillers" was considerably higher-rung than most of the several thousands of garage comps to follow in the next few decades. It's now almost as hard to find as the original releases it anthologizes, but should you be able to come across a copy like this one, it's a surprisingly worthwhile investment for the garage rock fan. Most of this has the stereotypical circa-1966 garage rock attributes -- snotty vocals, fuzz guitar, cheesy organ, snide sullen attitude -- but here it's usually wedded to stronger material and performances than those on the average LP of the same. What's more, much of it doesn't appear on many other garage anthologies, with some exceptions like the Del-Vetts' "Last Time Around" and the E-Types' "Put the Clock Back on the Wall" (both of which are admittedly among the stronger cuts). Other high points include Society's Children's "Mr. Genie Man," a rare example of tough female-sung ominous garage psychedelia; the Undertakers' vicious reworking of "Unchain My Heart"; the Untamed's "Someday Baby," which recalls the British R&B/punk style, and the Legends' exuberant cover of the Searchers' LP version of "Alright."
