RAVI SHANKAR and ALI AKBAR KHAN IN CONCERT 1972 UK Apple 2 x LP 1st Beatles
Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan in Concert 1972.
1972 England pressed Apple Records stereo 2 x LP set housed in gatefold sleeve, SAPDO 1002 (SAP 103/4).
Earliest issue with A1/B1/A1/B1 matrix suffixes.
By and large vinyl appears mostly EX. Glossy with just a few scuff marks, with the exception of side three which exhibits a few light hairline scratches.
The labels still have a really good lustre and spindle activity is noticeable but light.
However, a crackly issue. A side plays around G, B side around VG. C side play graded G with some occasional ticks and crackle but much plays VG. D side plays a conservative G but much plays VG or better, especially to the second half. As is to be expected crackle is not so obtrusive during the slightly louder periods when percussion is added to the mix.
Both inners are original plain paper with Apple copyright text to bottom edge. These have survived pretty well with no seam splits or structural damage. Some peripheral age toning and just one or two very minor tan storage spots.
External gatefold sleeve a solid VG. No faults of note but light general wear including edge creasing and slight ringwear whitening to front and rear panels. Some edge, top and spine whitening and chipping but no heavy wear or seam splits.
