Description

Here is an exceptionally rare record, one of only a handful of copies that Ray Bradbury had custom made for friends and acquaintances in the mid 1960s. Each side contains a lush dramatization of Bradbury's work, fully produced with music and sound effects. One side features "The Wilderness People," a rare piece that Bradbury presented at the U.S. Pavilion at the New York World's Fair in 1964, with voice by the character actor John McIntire (The Asphalt Jungle, Psycho, etc.). The the other contains "Icarus Montgolfier Wright," with narration by James Whitmore and Ross Martin. Unlike other copies that have surfaced, this one includes a printed cover. Judging by the handwriting on the cover and labels (which is likely Bradbury's own), this copy was given to somebody named "Chuck," who may have been Bradbury's close friend Charles Adams. The disc is in VG+ condition with some light surface wear. Playback is excellent with some background crackle. The audio clips below come directly from this copy:
