Description

Another hideously rare and unreissued groovy album by Ray Brown and Moonstone, "Mad House" circa 1971 on the Aussie Festival label.  Yes, this is the same Ray Brown who recorded with the Whispers in the mid sixties down under, but here he joins up with heavy psych band Moonstone for a one-off KILLER hash pipe head melter!  Half rural rock and half Eastern sitar psych, this great album features "Story of Ali", an exotic sitar bellydancing psych spoken word tune that graced the Electric Sitar Headswirlers 1 compilation, and "Start of a New Day", a killer sitar/tablas raga psych track with Eastern feel and super catchy melody, which turned up on Electric Sitar Headswirlers 3.  Those guys sure knew a good thing when they heard it.  Some other cool sitar tracks have yet to be comped, like the groovy "Mr. Blue", which combines Ray's sitar raga psychedelia with Moonstone's rural rock Byrds - Grateful Dead style.  An excellent and oh so rare album - unreissued and rare as hens teeth.  This one's in decent shape - vinyl plays with some noise, grades VG to VG+, still a lot of life left in this one.  Cover is largely in VG++ shape BUT has an approximately 1 inch by 5 inch tear out of the back cover, which takes away some of the musical credits and liner notes.  Great groovy front cover art is intact, however.  Winning bidder pays $3.00 media shipping in the US, $6 to Canada, and $11 everywhere else.  Paypal, Bidpay, cash, checks and money orders accepted.
