Description
Up for auction is a 1959 78 rpm record by Ray Charles & His Orchestra on Atlantic label. (#2031)
The sides are What I'd Say Part 1 / Part 2.
A family member, an avid jukebox collector, has recently decided to part with his large R&B / Rock & Roll record collection. These records have been in climate-controlled storage since the early 70’s and have not been on a turntable platter for almost 40 years until now to archive & to test their playability. (If they have a skip…they don’t make it to listing.)
I found the following grading system online…
- NM = near new condition
- E = barely played, extremely close to near new condition
- VG = played, but not abused condition, should play very well, may have light scratches, scuffs
- G = well played, but should play pretty well, will have deeper scratches, scuff; may have some background noise, scratches, scuffs, wear
- P = well used, pretty bad condition, lots of background noise
This record grades VG. Good gloss and sound...labels do have a tear on each side and there are several light needle scratches. Please see pic.
As a very frequent buyer (and a new seller) of 78 rpm records, I have seen the correct way and unfortunately, several incorrect ways of packing these fragile items.
This record will be very securely packaged for shipment.
I will combine shipping for other 78s I am auctioning at just an additional .50 cents each.
You will not be disappointed!
