 Rare, sealed triple vinyl copy of scarce work by the legendary Raymond Scott on the Dutch Basta label!

Raymond Scott was a composer, band leader, pianist, engineer, recording studio maverick and electronic instrument inventor. Although he never

scored cartoon sound tracks, his music is familiar to millions because of its adaptation by Cart Stalling in over 120 classic Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig,

Daffy Duck and other Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies animated shorts. His melodies have also been heard in episodes of Ren & Stimpy,

The Simpsons, Duckman, Animaniacs, The Oblongs and Batfink. (The only music Scott scored to accompany animation were three 20 second electronic

commercial jingles for County Fair Bread in 1962.)

Having attended Brooklyn Technical High School, Scott had a natural flare for electronics and, during his band days, could often be found in the control

room, monitoring and adjusting the acoustics, often by revolutionary means. In 1946 he established Manhattan Research, Inc. which would 'design and

manufacture electronic music devices and systems'. As well as designing audio devices for his own personal use, the company provided customers with sales

and service for a variety of devices 'for the creation of electronic music and musique concrete', including components such as ring modulators, wave, tone and

envelope shapers, modulators and filters. Of unique interest were instruments like the Clavivox and Electronium. Bob Moog, of synthesizer fame, designed circuits

for him in the '60s and acknowledged him as an important influence. Other fans include: Peter Buck (R.E.M.), Adrian Utley (Portishead), Pat Mastelotto

(King Crimson), Richard D James (Aphex Twin), Holger Czukay (Can), Cornelius, Konishi (Pizzicato Five), John Zorn, Matt Black (Coldcut), Simeon (Silver

Apples), Eric Harris (Olivia Tremor Control), Jean Jacques Perrey, Jim Thirlwell (Foetus).
