This recording was originally issued on LP in mono only in 1955 on LM-1900 - the first of the two recordings of the work which Munch made in Boston, not to be confused with their remake in 1962 (which was on 4-track tape, but never 2-track).  

This was the first stereo recording the BSO made of a complete work.  A stereo issue on LP was announced in 1960, but never actually released, so this 2-track tape (listed as early as the January/March 1956 Harrison Tape Catalog) was the only stereo issue of this recording until the British Victrola LP issue in 1971.  There was no stereo LP issue in the U.S. until the Gold Seal LP release in 1980!!

The tape is in excellent condition; its box shows only very minor shelf wear.
