RCA LSC 2239, Tchaikovsky, Symphony No. 5, Pierre Monteux, Boston Symphony (1958) 1s/1s (I) Indianapolis pressing. This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old 1s/1s pressing. This copy is very close to MINT. I can find nothing wrong with it. It is dead quiet and plays perfectly. The sound is spectacular, with a wide and deep stage and pinpoint imaging. The vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy and EXCEPTIONALLY quiet with NO pops, clicks, tics, or skips. There are NO pressing bubbles. The vinyl looks and plays MINT. There are some barely visible scuffs on side 2. The labels are clean with NO wear or spindle marks (see photos). The jacket is also very clean with no seam splits or corner scuffs and grades NM (see photos). The inner sleeve grades NM as well. In summary, this is an effectively perfect copy of this 50 year old 1s/1s golden-age recording. Feel free to return for a full refund if not completely satisfied.
