ATTENTION MUSIC LOVERS!!
Here's an exceptional and rare BOX SET from RCA!! The famous "Stereo For The Joy Of It" BOX SET! WOW!! This is the BOX version of this set (the box has a cushioned cover; this is NOT the "binder" version). 10 exceptional Living Stereo LPs. Not sure exactly how this particular set was set up, but there are SIX records on the RED SEAL label (LSC-1901, LSC-1903, LSC-2201, LSC-2214, LSC-2233, LSC-2234), and FOUR on the SHADED DOG label (LSC-1984, LSC-2100, LSC-2150, LSC-2195). A Wonderful Set!
HERE ARE THE RECORDS:
- LSC 1901 -- TCHAIKOVSKY "Pathétique" Symphony, Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by PIERRE MONTEUX.
- LSC 1903 -- BRAHMS Concerto in D. JASCHA HEIFETZ, Violinist, with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by FRITZ REINER.
- LSC 1984 -- RAVEL Boléro, La Valse, Rhapsodie espagnole & DEBUSSY, Prélude to the Afternoon of a Faun, Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by CHARLES MUNCH.
- LSC 2100 -- ROSSINI "William Tell" Overture, etc., Boston Pops Orchestra conducted by ARTHUR FIEDLER.
- LSC 2150 -- PROKOFIEFF, Lieutenant Kije, STRAVINSKY Song Of The Nightingale, Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by FRITZ REINER.
- LSC 2195 -- COPLAND Billy The Kid Suite, MORTON GOULD and his Orchestra.
- LSC 2201 -- MOUSSORGSKY-RAVEL Pictures At An Exhibition, Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by FRITZ REINER.
- LSC 2214 -- DVORAK "New World" Symphony, Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by FRITZ REINER.
- LSC 2233 -- BEETHOVEN "EROICA" Symphony, Boston Symphony Orchestra conducted by CHARLES MUNCH.
- LSC 2234 -- SAINT-SAËNS Concerto No. 2. ARTUR RUBINSTEIN, Pianist, with the Symphony of the Air conducted by ALFRED WALLENSTEIN.
Vinyl records visually show only the faintest wear, mostly consisting in faint scuffs and hairlines. LSC-1903 (Brahms/Heifetz) shows a bit more longer scuffs than the rest, as well as slight spindle marks. All records come in their original waxed "rice-paper" inner sleeves.
All covers are wonderfully preserved with practically no visible wear (perhaps the faintest of ultra light wear on some outside edges). Super nice and shiny covers. Very clean. All covers have a "Special Issue - Not For Regular Sale" on the back.
The box itself does show some wear around the edges and on the corners, but is still solid and sturdy and all corners are still in place. Also some light yellowing and staining.
ATTENTION! THE ENTIRE BOX SET WEIGHS MORE THAN 3 KGS.

Grading System:
I use the Goldmine grading system. I am by no means a professional grader, but a long-time collector, so I know a great/good/bad/terrible record when I see one! However, grading is a subjective matter, and very often, one person’s NM (which I use very rarely) is another person’s VG+. So if you win the item but don't agree on the grading, let me know. We'll talk and come to a mutually acceptable agreement, I'm sure.
