RCA LSC 2377, BEETHOVEN, Kreutzer and Spring Sonatas, Rubinstein / Szeryng, (1960) 1s/1s (I) Indianapolis pressing. This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old 1s/1s shaded dog pressing. It was recorded in 1960, and the sound has a wonderful lifelike presence that places the instruments in your room. The vinyl on this copy is quiet and plays very well. The surfaces are clean and glossy with no scuffs. There are occasional VERY light tics that are barely audible, and a tiny pressing bubble near the end of side 2 that causes 3 moderate tics. Otherwise, the vinyl looks and plays NM. I will give it an overall grade of EX due to the pressing bubble and occasional tics. The labels are clean with no spindle wear but a small scuff on the side 1 label. The jacket is clean and grades EX due to a small bend on the lower right corner and a small smudge on the back. There is also the beginning of a small seam split in the upper right corner. The back of the jacket is stamped "For Demonstration Purposes Only" in the upper left corner (see photos). The inner sleeve is also EX. In summary, this is a very nice copy of this wonderful golden-age recording. Feel free to return for a full refund if not completely satisfied.
