Up for auction is the RCA October Christmas Sampler album from 1959. This record was not issued with special cover and is PROMOTIONAL ISSUE ONLY. It is labeled October Christmas Sampler 59-40-41. On the left side of side 1 it says SPS 33-54 and underneath that K2NY-548. On the right side of side 1 it says NOT FOR SALE. Although I'm not an expert in records this record look like it is in perfect condition. I really doubt that it was ever played although I have no way to verify that. I do not have a record player so I can not atest to the sound quality. Yes, I do know what a record is...I was a kid growing up in the 70's so I had many albums. Of course all of those records were played so much they wore out. So I do know what a nice, well kept album should look like. Please look at the scans. I put a lot of time into trying to get good shots without glare and reflection. I'm not a photographer so I hope they tell you what you need to know about this rare find.

I can give a little history on how I aquired this record. My Grandmother left me her record collection when she passed about 25 years ago. The collection of about 150 albums was tightly packed in a 1950's album holder that stands on the floor. The holder which is really a piece of furniture closes and locks so all of those albums have been locked away for 25 years. I finally decided to take a look and see if there was anything of value in there. Most of the albums were of a Latin American flavor with some jazz albums as well. They all date back to the 50's and early 60's. I did come across a few of these promotional albums. My grandmother was not into elvis, contemporary music or even Christmas music so I really believe that she never played this album. Too bad she is not still around for me to ask.

I've tried very hard to research this record but most record stores are gone and there is not much info on the net about these. I've talked to a record dealer out of state and he told me that I did have a rare find and it is a valuable record. He did tell me that the market for these is down as most collectibles are...Sure I always have great timing! Anyway I will start the bidding low with no reserve and let the Ebay community determine what it's worth. I will be listing the other promo albums I have so check back often. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! Any questions or concerns please contact me thru Ebay. Thank for looking!
