(This recording of Daphnis & Chloe was made on April 3, 1961; not be confused with their earlier recording of the same work from January 23 & 24, 1955, which was never issued on open-reel tape. Though some people disagree, I find this 1961 recording vastly superior, both musically and sonically, to the earlier version. One of Munch’s greatest triumphs on recordings!)
The tape is in excellent condition; its box shows minor shelf wear and a little tape repair.
