1968 Pama PMLP 3 UK LP 'Ready Steady Go Rock Steady' featuring various artists. Nice colourful sleeve with the cool ladies doing their thing.
Strong sleeve with no rips, tears, writing or sticker blemish to report. Has a laminated front and spine with a plain but grubby rear. It shows creasing, mild edge and corner rubs and ringwear. So is a solid yet timeworn sleeve which I can just about give 6 /10 with regards to condition.
The disc reads 178g on my scale so is a great durable slice of wax for the period. Cleanish labels show signs of several spins at most (as witnessed by the 'spindle snail' ghost traces at the hole).
Matrix numbers at the dead-wax run-offs are PMLP+3+A & PMLP+3 B.
Vinyl has a sheen to it and is flat when viewed edge on.
Angling the disc in strong room daylight and under a searching lamp I see multiple scuffs and light hairlines but no deep marks or scratches. So for its' visual condition I give the record 5 /10.
Yet this is a hefty piece of plastic so the acid test is to give it a twirl on my Linn / Naim hi-fi system.
Hey..it sounds pretty good and I guess the thick vinyl is forgiving of blemishes. Noticeable ticks on the dead bands as is common and there are clicks and pops interspersed on the album but I enjoyed listening to it. I may be way off beam but I'm going for 7.5 /10 for the audio quality of the record.
But heck, I'm starting the auction at 99p so you gals and guys say what it's worth.
And as always you could disagree with my subjective judgements throughout this discourse in which case no problem to return of course.
