Description:

Extremely rare debut full-length from Houston, TX Punk legends, Really Red. "Teaching You the Fear" is full of blistering, edgy, politically minded punk rock . . . not quite art-inclined enough to be considered Post-Punk and not po' faced enough to come across as preachy. Really Red definitely deserve a place in the Texas Punk Pantheon alongside the Dicks, Big Boys, Butthole Surfers and Scratch Acid. Pretty much the quintessential Killed By Death punk band, they released their own records and were central to their local scene. As for national recognition and beyond, what little notoriety Really Red did have came from being included on the seminal Alternative Tentacles compilation "Let Them Eat Jellybeans" (along with Hardcore/Punk heavyweights like Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Flipper, etc.). Mainly revered and sought after by punk archeologists and record collectors, the original vinyl releases of Really Red--all via their own C.I.A. Records--are extremely hard to come by. Living in Texas, I've been fortunate enough to come across a copy, so here's a chance to own this overlooked American Punk classic.
